David R. “Ponto” Thomas, 53, of Warsaw, passed away at 12:49 p.m. May 13, 2013, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born March 28, 1960, in Welch, W.Va., to Billy E. and Minnie Lester Thomas. On May 3, 1985, in Warsaw, he married Brenda Mock, who survives. Living most of his life in Warsaw, he worked in maintenance for Serenade Foods, Milford, for 34 years. He graduated from Warsaw Community High School in 1979. He enjoyed fishing, dirt bikes, camping and was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds. Also surviving are three sons, Bryan (and spouse Shanna) Thomas, Eric Thomas and Dillon Thomas, all of Warsaw; three brothers, Bill (and spouse Jenni) Thomas and Calvin Thomas, all of Warsaw, and Johnny Thomas, Akron; and four sisters, Deb (and spouse Mitch) Hunsberger, Donna (and spouse Mitch) Glant and Kathy Garris, all of Warsaw, and Deanna Thomas, North Webster. He was preceded in death by his father. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Terry Bradford officiating.
