David Louis Ewert, 90, Winona Lake, died Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, at Grace Village Health Care in Winona Lake assisted by Stillwater Hospice.
He was born Feb. 10, 1936, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Edward and Matilda Peruzzi Ewert. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he actively served from 1955-1957 and then in the reserves until he was honorably discharged in 1961.
He married Lillian Holtz, also from Alden, on May 11, 1957; she preceeded him in death.
A memorial service for David will be held Thursday, Aug. 13 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel at Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake. Pastor Bryan Benjamin will officiate. He was laid to rest at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst, Pa. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth-Byers Funeral Home, Warsaw.
