COLUMBIA CITY – David L. Sleighter, 55, of Columbia City, died at 5:28 p.m. Nov. 16, 2012, in Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City. He was born Dec. 18, 1956, in Columbia City, to David C. and Mary M. Busz Sleighter. He grew up in Pierceton and lived the past 16 years in Columbia City. He graduated from Whitko High School in 1976. He was a crew leader at CTB, Milford, for 19 years and was a former volunteer fireman in Pierceton. Surviving are two daughters, Laura Sleighter, Columbia City, and Donna Sleighter, Elkhart; two sisters, Beverly (and spouse Doug) Metz, Leesburg, and Diana (and spouse Robert) Richtie, Kimmell; a half sister, Karen (and spouse Charles) Levitz, Columbia City; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter. A memorial service will be at a later date.
