David L. Riehle

David L. Riehle, age 80, of Warsaw, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. in his residence.

David was born March 14, 1940, in Lafayette, to Albert Charles and Gladys Widmer Riehle. He was united in marriage to Mary Katherine Schilling on June 25, 1964. He married Marilyn Webb on Nov. 7, 2020.

He  graduated from Lafayette Jeff High School and continued his education receiving a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University, Lafayette, in 1963. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves 29th Field Artillery in Rushville from 1963 to 1969.

David worked for Design Manufacturing Corp. from 1964 to 1989 and worked as a non-production buyer for Reelcraft Industries from 1997 to 2012. He was a member of Jaycees Connersville, the president of the Connersville Babe Ruth League and a life member of Knights of Columbus.

David is survived by wife Marilyn Riehle, of Warsaw; children: Christina (Rick) Coon, of Decatur; and Julia (Frederick) Krueger, of Washington, Ind.; grandchildren: Ethan, Tanner, Nathaniel, Delia, Ronald and Trenton; and great-grandchild, Gwyneth.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Katherine Schilling, on June 27, 2014; and grandson, William Albert on Dec. 17, 1998.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 15 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Jonathan Norton officiating. A two-hour visitation will be held prior to the service from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Culver Masonic Cemetery, Culver, at 1:30 p.m.

McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, is entrusted with arrangements for the family.
