SYRACUSE – David L. Mize, 73, of Syracuse, died Feb. 18, 2013, in his residence. He was born May 4, 1939, in Lake Station, to Leland L. and Rose Elizabeth Bush Mize. His wife, Debbie Mize, preceded him in death. He graduated from East Gary Edison High School in 1958 and formerly worked for United States Steel, Gary, for 27 years. He moved to Syracuse from Lake County in 1991 and retired from the Wawasee School Corp. as a custodian after 13 years of service. He was a member of Eagles Aerie 3760, Syracuse. Surviving are four sisters, Dorthea (and spouse Ed) Vision, Brownsburg, and Betty Terry, Elizabeth Mize and Michelle Mize, all of Lake Station; and a brother, Ron (and spouse Judy) Mize, Lowell. He also was preceded in death by a sister and his companion. Private entombment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.
