David L. Chauncey

David L. Chauncey, I, colonel (U.S. Army Ret.), 91, Warsaw, passed away at 12:26 p.m. Nov. 9, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 25, 1922, to Alvin L. and Virginia B Campbell Chauncey. On June 7, 1942, he was united in marriage to Jacqueline Read, who died Aug. 25, 1998.
He is a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School, Indianapolis, Class of 1940. In addition, he is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and Staff College. He faithfully served his country from 1942 to 1972 during World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Conflict as an enlisted man, officer and civilian employee. From 1972 to 1978, the Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County employed him. He was a 62-year member of Logan Masonic Lodge #575, Indianapolis; a 35-year member of Scottish Rite Marion County Valley and the Murat Shrine of Indianapolis; the Military Officers of America; and Legion Post #253 of North Webster.
Surviving are a son, David L. (and spouse Faye) Chauncey II; two grandchildren, Cindy and Brad (and spouse Brandi) Chauncey; and a great-granddaughter, Megan Chauncey. A brother and a sister preceded him.
No calling or services are planned.
