David L. Bowers, 81, Nappanee, died Nov. 27, 2015, at the home of his son in Lebanon, Ohio. He was born Aug. 25, 1934, in Elkhart, to Harrison and Freida Miller Bowers. On July 21, 1957, in Shreve, Ohio, he married Joanne M. Tate, who survives. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959, stationed in Germany, and was chosen as a chaplain’s assistant. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Brethren Church, with the Revs. Tom Schiefer and Bart Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery, with military graveside services by Nappanee American Legion.
