David ‘Dave’ Murl Walker Jr.David “Dave” Murl Walker Jr., of Warsaw, passed away at 8:47 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, at the age of 58.  He could no longer fight the battle within his body and passed away from the injuries he suffered in an automobile accident that occurred on April 26, 2021, at Ind. 13, north of CR 150S, outside of Pierceton.

He was born on Feb. 21, 1963, in Muncie, to Nancy Ann Merritt Walker and David Murl Walker Sr. On May 2, 1990, he married the lovely Kelly Sue Blackford. They shared 31 years of marriage together before he passed away.

Dave moved to Kosciusko County in 1972 with his family and resided in the North Webster area for many years. He worked at Warsaw Orthopedics, which later became Medtronic, where he was a machinist. He later worked at North Webster Lakeshore Marina. Dave had a number of jobs throughout his life but finally had to retire due to injuries he sustained in an automobile accident in 1987. He never let his disability hold him back and he relished to be able to spend time outdoors, fishing, hunting and, of course, playing his guitar. He was always a very artistic fellow and was a familiar face to many because of his “Duck Dynasty Uncle Si beard!” In his 58 years of life, he shared with his loved ones, he filled many roles … son, brother, husband, father and finally, grandfather! He lived a full life and will be dearly missed by all.

He will lovingly be remembered by his wife, Kelly Sue Walker, Warsaw; son, Dustin (Jessica) France, Rochester; three daughters: Amber (Jason) West, Warsaw; Danielle (wife Amber Stull) Walker, Columbia City; and his daughter from a previous relationship, she is 33 now. He also leaves behind his beloved seven grandchildren: Aiden, Addison, Brielle, Keagan, Jackson, Skyler and Natalia; father: David Murl Walker Sr., Pierceton; sister, Crystel (Andy) Hamilton, Pierceton; two brothers: Thomas (Christa) Walker, Bluffton; and Timothy Walker, South Whitley.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Walker; and his beloved dog, Bailey, died at the accident scene.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, May 7 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. Dave’s life will be celebrated at 1 p.m. following visitation and officiated by Ken Locke. A graveside service will follow at Mock Cemetery in North Webster. The family is planning a balloon release at Dave’s residence after the cemetery committal service, please bring a balloon.
