David Clay CatesKosciusko County Superior Court 1 Judge David Clay Cates, 61, Syracuse, died at 9:09 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, at his home in Syracuse from an apparent heart attack.
He was born on Oct. 8, 1959, in Evansville, to Mary Ann Kapperman Cates and the late Dr. Jeryl R. Cates. On Aug. 30, 2008, he was married to Kimberly Dawn Reynolds Cates.
David’s life will be celebrated at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw, and officiated by Pastor David Henry. Friends and family may come and visit prior to the service from 2 to 7 p.m.
