David B. PowersBOURBON – David B. Powers, age 95, of Warsaw, formerly of Etna Green, passed away at Miller’s Merry Manor Nursing Home of Warsaw on Friday, Dec. 3, 2021, with his wife by his side.

David was born the son of Henry David and Dolly Sears Powers on March 19, 1926, in Terre Haute. He had been a resident of the area for most of his life. He worked at J & M Gravel of Etna Green for many years, performing maintenance on all of the equipment, as well as driving truck. He was also a dedicated member of New Beginnings Church of Atwood. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his wife.

David served his country in the United States Army during World War II (June 6, 1944 – May 3, 1946) during the Battle of the Bulge.

Those with special memories of David are his wife of 72 years, Anna Mullen, whom he married March 29, 1949; and his son, Richard (Keiko) Powers, of Agoura Hills, Calif.; and two grandchildren: David and Richard Powers.

David was preceded in death by his parents and son, Robert Powers.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, Dec. 9 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon. Funeral services will immediately follow with Denny Bollenbacher, New Beginnings Church of Atwood, officiating.

Burial will follow at Etna Green Cemetery, Etna Green.
