David Andrews Sparks, 42, of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, died July 11, 2009, near Atlanta, Ga., while working underwater as a deep sea diver in Lake Lanier, Ga.
He was born July 21, 1966, in New York, to Joe and Betty Sparks, formerly of Rochester. His father survives.
He was a 1985 Warsaw Community High School graduate and served in the U.S. Navy. He was an operator of hyperbaric chambers, was a deep sea diver who worked in the installation of oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico and served as captain of boats sailing in the Caribbean and the Virgin Islands.
