Darryll Thomas Hunter Sr., 75, of Claypool, died at 9:10 a.m. May 31, 2010, in his residence.
He was born Feb. 28, 1935, in Warsaw, to Arthur L. and Maude Sickafus Shumar Hunter. On May 9, 1975, in Lawrenceburg, he married Alice Lambert, who survives.
He was a teacher, worked at Conrail and Kralis and retired from Utilimaster, Wakarusa, in 2008. He graduated from Grace College and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954-58.
Also surviving are two sons, Darryll Hunter Jr., Warsaw, and Jeffrey Hunter (and Amanda Fountain), Claypool; two daughters, Connie (and spouse William) Puckett, Claypool, and Mr. and Mrs. Schoettmer; a brother, Cliff Hunter, Florida; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and a sister.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Chaplain Bob Jarboe officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Claypool.
