Darlene J. Wallace, age 81, of Warsaw, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2019, at 12:55 p.m. in her residence.
Darlene was born on Oct. 5, 1938, in Fort Wayne, to Horace and Scharline Lamb Lowery. She was married to Tom Alexander for 12 years.
Darlene was the grocery manager of Chief Supermarkets of Warsaw and Marsh Supermarkets of Fort Wayne. She later worked as a caregiver in Health Care for Fort Wayne Medical Oncology and Hematology, Warsaw. She was involved in the Kosciusko County Historical Society, Pound Museum, Oswego and the Oswego Lions Club.
Darlene is survived by daughter, Shawn (Dan) Bohnstedt, of Milford; Jada (Scott) Alexander-Sackschewsky, of Delta, Ohio; son, Ryan (Dawn) Niles, of Holden Beach, N.C.; sisters, Sharon (John) Clay, of Warsaw, and Sharodene (Richard) Morris, of Warsaw; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Tom Alexander; son, Shannon Alexander; daughter, Meghan Wallace; brother, Charles Lowery; and sister-in-law, Rosie Lowery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with her funeral service starting at 5 p.m. Pastor Aaron Hoak will be officiating. Interment will be private at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
