Sacred Heart School sixth-graders Abby Serbousek, Alex Koontz and Zach Riley presented their classroom DARE box to Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer, DARE Officer Joe Hawn and Cpl. Chuck Hodges. The contest was to determine who created the best DARE box. The DARE boxes were designed by the classes to be used for questions about previous DARE lessons or any other questions about DARE. Sacred Heart School and homeschooled students competed in the DARE box competition. The winning class will receive a pizza party donated by Papa John’s Pizza.
Students at Sacred Heart School participated in a presentation by attorney Natalie Fierek, North Webster, about President Abe Lincoln. Natalie Fierek gave an introduction about his professional and personal life. She also read the book ‘Abe Lincoln’s Hat’, and students then participated in a game called ‘Who is the Real Abe Lincoln?’ Books about Lincoln were donated to the school’s library and each student received a bracelet stating ‘Why Lincoln was a Lawyer?’ This educational and entertaining program was sponsored by the Indiana Bar Association.
