The Agnes Pruyn Chapman Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution is the Kosciusko County sponsor of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution essay contests.
All students in fifth through 12th grade in a public, private, parochial school or home schools in Kosciusko County are eligible.
The 2010-2011 American History Essay Contest topic for students in grades 5, 6, 7 and 8 is: In celebration of the 275th anniversary of the birth of Paul Revere, pretend you are Paul Revere writing your memoirs. Relate various accomplishments for which you wish to be remembered in the annals of American History.The Christopher Columbus Essay Contest is for ninth through 12th grade with the 2010-2011 topic being: What lessons from Christopher Columbus' life can we draw on today to bring clarity to our decisions in the face of an uncertain future?
