WABASH - Danny Ray Lyons, 58, of Wabash, died at 3:19 a.m. Oct. 6, 2007, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born Sept. 30, 1949, in Paintsville, Ky., to Mitchell and Nellie Cantrell Lyons. On April 7, 1973, in Wabash, he married Barbara Fay Nelson, who died Jan. 29, 2001.
He enjoyed collecting guns and was a member of Wabash Gun Club and the National Rifle Association. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in England. He worked at the foundry at Ford Meter Box, Wabash, for 21 years.
Surviving are a son, Danny D. (and wife Jessy) Lyons, Huntington; a daughter, Regina Adams, Wabash; five grandchildren, Jessica Adams, Wabash, and Danielle, Natilee, Dominic and Amanda Lyons, all of Huntington; a brother, Earl Lyons, Warsaw; and two sisters, Deaitra "Dee Dee" Ward and Mrs. Philip (Cathy) King, both of Wabash. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather, Ellis B. Ward.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Wabash Freewill Baptist Church, 1056 Erie St., with the Rev. Charlie Easterday officiating. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery, Wabash.
Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash.
