AKRON – Daniel E. Rans, 41, of 3024 S. CR 700E, Akron, died unexpectedly May 13, 2013, in his residence. He was born Nov. 12, 1971, in Rochester, to James R. Sr. and Kathryn Willard Rans. On May 17, 1991, in Rochester, he married Nancy A. Floor, she survives. He worked at Zimmer Orthopedics, Warsaw, as a CNC operator. He was a 1990 graduate of Rochester High School and attended The Cross, Rochester. Also surviving are a son, Travis Rans, Akron; his mother, Kathryn (and spouse James) Adams, Rochester; three brothers, James R. Jr. (and spouse Melanie) Rans, Grove City, Ohio; George Rans, Plymouth; and Brandon (and spouse Nicole) Rans, Killeen, Texas; a sister, sister, Beth (and spouse Seamus) Pinder, Fulton; three stepbrothers: Pat (and spouse Brandi) Bilby, Rochester; Jon (and spouse LaDonna) Mitchell, Rochester; and Scott Bilby, Akron; and two stepsisters, Betty (and spouse Tom) Stroud, Fulton, and Paula Moore, Rochester. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, with Pastors Frank Whitaker and Martin Furrow officiating. Burial will be in Silver Creek Cemetery, Silver Lake.
