Class Act Dance Troupe brings its award-winning pieces to the Warsaw Community High School Performing Arts Center at 3 p.m. Sunday. The non-profit performing company was created in 1986 to provide students with opportunities to use their dance training and has grown, according to a press release provided by Debra Collier’s School of Dance. The company of 25 students, ages 9 to 17, has performed for such events as Walt Disney World’s Magic Music Days, the Legacy program in New York City and for the Harlem Globetrotters, as well as focusing on community involvement through local performances. “This concert will showcase the artistry, talent and dedication of our students,” CADT co-director Tammy Seibold is quoted as saying in the press release. “We have everything from a delightfully whimsical ballet piece created by Milwaukee-based choreographer Melissa Anderson, to an emotionally charged contemporary piece by guest artist Donna Zeigler and the award-winning modern piece “Symbols” by DCSD alumnus Hannah Crane. The variety of this show will offer something for everyone.” She also said, “Our students are passionate about dance and it shows in every moment. You can feel their intensity as they portray the impact of life’s pressures in ‘Insecure,’ then with just as much conviction whisk you away to the light hearted world of ‘Bonjour Paris.’ As the show unfolds, you will be amazed by the versatility of these dancers.” Tickets are $9 and may be purchased online at collierdance.com/cadt-tickets-2/, at the door, at Debra Collier’s School of Dance or by calling 574-267-7055. Proceeds from the performance benefit the CADT scholarship fund. For more information regarding the troupe or to schedule a performance, contact Seibold.
