Danú, A Traditional Irish Ensemble, Will Perform At The PAC

Posted
“Danú: A Christmas Gathering Félie Na Nollag” will perform at the Warsaw Community High School Performing Arts Center Dec. 8 for one performance at 7 p.m.
The PAC is very excited to host this holiday gathering for the first time at this location, according to a press release provided by Warsaw Community Schools. Danú has been to this area of Indiana in previous years but never to Warsaw.
Hailing from County Waterford, Kerry, Dublin, and Donegal in Ireland, Danú is one of the leading traditional Irish ensembles of today. Their standing-room only concerts throughout Ireland are “true events featuring high-energy performances and a glorious mix of ancient Irish music and new repertoire,” the release states.
Winner of major awards from the BBC and Irish Music Magazine, Danú returns to the United States this December with a “gorgeous celebration of Christmas from their homeland,” according to the release.
For over a decade, Danú’s virtuosi players on flute, tin whistle, fiddle, button accordion, bouzouki and vocals (Irish and English) have performed around the globe and recorded seven albums. Danú has toured throughout Europe and North America with stops at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and Symphony Space in New York City. Danú takes its audiences on a musical journey to their native Ireland while offering a moving and memorable concert experience, the release states.
