NORTH WEBSTER – Dan Shepherd, 72, of North Webster, died at 6:10 a.m. April 23, 2012, in Warsaw Meadows Nursing Home.

He was born Aug. 18, 1939, in Gunlock, Ky., to Frank and Ella  Wireman Shepherd. On Aug. 12, 1962, in Silver Lake, he married Linda S. Wagoner, who survives.

He attended Burket Schools. He lived in San Fernando Valley, Calif., for 22 years before moving to North Webster in 1984. He  formerly worked at Phillips Manufacturing, Syracuse, for several years and Steve’s Transmission Service, Sepulveda, Calif., for 20 years.

Also surviving are two sons, Jeffrey (and spouse Julie) Shepherd, Sugar Loaf, Calif., and Michael (and spouse Angela) Shepherd, North Webster; four grandchildren; four sisters: Thelma (and spouse Junior) Jackson, North Manchester; Ocie (and spouse Cecil) Shoemaker and Avanell (and spouse Gary) Smith, all of Akron; and Cynthia Jane Harmon, Wabash; and four brothers: Johnny (and spouse Jackie) Shepherd, Silver Lake; Chester Shepherd, Warsaw; Joe Cephus Shepherd, Disco; and Jeff (and spouse Vicki) Shepherd, Leesburg. He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Owen Family Funeral Home, North Webster, with Jack Stump and the Rev. Mark Wagoner officiating. Burial will be in North Webster Cemetery, Mock Addition.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
