As a Pacesetter for this year's campaign, Dalton Corporation's internal campaign, with 672 employees, raised $42,953 for the United Way.
Dalton Key leader Kristi Roemer and her team members Connie Hite, Rose Kindle, Susan Patrick, Thelma Miller, Jeff Short, Brad Harris, Ron Patrick, Jim Dutka, Charles Wendler, Bud Sawyer, Ron Schmucker, Scott Harper and Jonnee Ensley organized a company-wide, employee picnic. The picnic, catered by Bertsch services, fed employees from all three shifts, hamburgers and hot dogs and various other picnic food. Employees then were able to watch the United Way video and fill out their personal pledge cards for their donations.
To reward employee giving, Dalton held drawings for prizes during their picnic. Any employee who donated to the United Way was entered into a drawing for great prizes.
Items that could be won included a CD player, tool box, Dalton hats, lawn chairs, mechanic tool set, car wash kit, lantern, coffee maker and fire extinguishers. Employees who donated $2 or more per week were eligible to be entered into a second drawing for a 27-inch flat screen TV, $100 safety shoe gift certificate, one year free uniform service, dinner for two and an overnight stay at the Oakwood Inn.
Since 1910, Dalton has been a world class manufacturer of gray iron castings and machined components for the air conditioning, refrigeration, automotive, heavy truck and other industrial markets.
