AKRON - Dale Lester Floyd, 69, of 1022 Wabash Ave., Rochester, died at 8:13 p.m. Dec. 2, 2007, in Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne, following a two-month illness.
He was born April 2, 1938, in Miami County, to Lester Dale and Chloe Walker Floyd. On Jan. 25, 1958, in Macy, he married Phyllis J. Hutchison, who survives.
He was a maintenance man at Lear, Peru, where he worked for 47 years.
Also surviving are a son, Richard Floyd, Seattle, Wash.; two daughters, Linda (and spouse Gary) Easterday, Seattle, Wash., and Cathy (and spouse Carl) Adley, Rochester; nine grandchildren; four sisters: Adella Wilson, South Bend; Betty (and spouse Arthur) Harper and Aretha Mills, both of Rochester; and Ruth (and spouse Brice) Carrothers, Peru; and a brother, David (and spouse Kathy) Floyd, Bloomfield. He was preceded in death by a son and a sister.
A private service will be at a later date at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron. Burial will be in Akron Cemetery.
