PIERCETON - Dale Burton Beery, 85, of Claypool, died at 8:50 a.m. Aug. 17, 2007, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

He was born Nov. 12, 1921, in Fairfield County, Ohio, to Percy and Grace Bagwell Beery. In 1945, in Arcanum, Ohio, he married Thelma Drew, who survives.

A resident of Kosciusko County for 61 years, he was a retired co-owner of the Akron Foundry and employee of the North Manchester Foundry. He was a member of Claypool United Methodist Church; Packerton United Methodist Church; Firecracker Golf League at Sycamore Golf Course, North Manchester; and the Kiwanis. He was a Sunday school teacher at Claypool United Methodist Church and Packerton United Methodist Church.

Also surviving are two daughters, Asenath Wilson, Auburn, and Marie Beery, Kelseyville, Calif.; three sons, Paul (and wife Kathie) Beery, Claypool; Douglas (and wife MarLou) Beery, Larwill; and Leon (and wife RoxAnne) Beery, Mentone; a brother, Robert Beery, North Manchester; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Irene Beery, North Manchester; and a brother-in-law, Ercell Lynn, North Manchester. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, with Pastors Evelyn Haney and Floyd Blake officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton.
