AKRON - Daisy Manns, 86, of 406 E. Walnut St., Silver Lake, died at 2:20 p.m. March 6, 2007, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

She was born Jan. 18, 1921, in Floyd County, Ky., to George and Mary Slone Bradford. On Jan. 18, 1937, in David, Ky., she married Ellis Manns, who died March 29, 1981.

She was a homemaker and attended the Pentecostal Church, Claypool. She loved her vegetable garden and in later years added a variety of flowers to the mix.

Surviving are six daughters: Dortha Bailey, Akron; Mrs. Luther (Annie Grace) Bailey and Mrs. James (Mary Bell) Overbey, both of Claypool; Mrs. Frank (Ruby Jean) Kietzer, Rochester; Marcella Manns, Wabash; and Jenny Emmons, Silver Lake; six sons: Ballard and Ed Manns, both of Silver Lake; Lawrence (and wife Ella) Manns and Dale (and wife Sue) Manns, both of Warsaw; George (and wife Eula) Manns, Claypool; and Willard (and wife Sue) Manns, Akron; 30 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Nora Owens, Silver Lake; and three brothers: Paul Thurman Bradford, Silver Lake; Menifee Bradford, Roann; and Ellis "Red" Bradford, Kentucky; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son, William; a son-in-law, Douglas Bailey; a great-grandson, Noah Slone; and five brothers, Richmond, Valice, Henry, Taylor and Jay Bradford.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, with Pastors Terry Bradford and Ralph Dotson officiating. Burial will be in Akron Cemetery.
