Mike Morel spun his six-year-old daughter Sydney on the dance floor Friday night at Center Lake Pavilion in Warsaw.
"I like to dance and this is my second year for coming to this dance," Sydney said.
The father and daughter trio were a part of hundreds of other daughters and their chaperones who attended Warsaw Parks Department's annual Daddy's Little Sweetheart Dance Friday night. There were 125 people who attended including 70 girls and 55 chaperones, according to Janelle Wilson, Warsaw Parks Department activities director.
The girls made an appearance dressed in red, white, and pink dresses. Some of the girls had their nails painted while others had their hair curled. There fathers and chaperones were dressed in suits and ties.
The DJ played the "Chicken Dance" song to the delight of the young girls as their dads joined in the dance with them.
Mackenzie Garrett, 7, attended the dance with her father Andy Garrett. When asked what she liked about the dance she responded "I like to express my self through dancing."
When the daughters and their dads needed a break, they could sit and eat heart-shaped cookies and cake at a table decorated with pink balloons.
Each daughter who made an appearance at the dance received a tiara and got their picture taken with their father or chaperone.
The Parks Department's Mommy's Little Gentleman Dance is planned for March 27 at Center Lake Pavilion.
