Warsaw Park’s Department’s Daddy’s Little Sweetheart Dance Friday was attended by 150 people. All 150 tickets for this year’s event sold out two weeks ago, leaving several daddies calling at the last minute wishing they could still purchase tickets, according to Liz McKinley, parks recreation director. This year’s event, held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Center Lake pavilion just for young ladies ages 3-12 and their daddies, celebrated a Valentine’s Day theme with pink and red balloons, white linens, crystal glass stem wear and china. Daddy’s and daughters enjoyed fresh fruit, finger sandwiches, cupcakes, cookies, lemonade and more. A DJ played the latest hits while everyone danced the night away. Each little girl received a pink sash to wear, a goody bag filled with candy bracelets, pink beaded necklaces, a personalized chap stick, bubbles, a take home craft kit and commemorative Valentine balloon. Each daddy and daughter had their photo taken and received a personalized 5 X 7 picture frame for their photos. The evening concluded with the limbo and one slow song so daddies and daughters could enjoy one last dance together.
