Da-Lite Supports Sustainability Ed. ProgramsDa-Lite/Legrand recently donated 10 LEGO education renewable energy kits to Jefferson Elementary. Fourth-grade students in Mrs. Luecke’s and Mr. Andrews’s classes are using these kits to explore a project about renewable sources of energy.
Students listened to a presentation from an expert speaker in the field and are currently designing a controlled experiment to find out how effective and efficient solar power is.
“Being able to provide the students with the tools and resources they need to learn about sustainability is such an honor for all of us at Da-Lite,” said Mark Sproles, Da-Lite/Legrand customer care specialist and better communities site captain.
“With the purchase of the LEGO solar stations, it provides our fourth graders with a genuine, hands-on experience of engineering. They get to bring energy to life with their own building, and they get to walk through the engineering design process,” said fourth-grade teacher Angela Luecke.
