For more than 50 years, Da-Lite Screens has been a major employer in Warsaw. Last week, it was announced that Milestone AV Technologies, Savage, Minn., has a pending merger with Da-Lite, 3100 N. Detroit St., Warsaw. One report from AV Interactive’s website stated Milestone AV Technologies purchased Da-Lite for $202.5 million. Milestone is the manufacturer of the Chief- and Sanus-branded A/V mounts and furniture, according to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. Da-Lite manufactures the Da-Lite, Projecta and Procolor commercial and residential projection screens. The combined business will have nearly 1,000 employees worldwide and eight major operating locations worldwide, according to a release put out by the companies. Da-Lite’s LinkedIn profile states it employs between 201 and 500 people. Press releases stated that employment wouldn’t be affected at the Warsaw location. Da-Lite opened its facility in Warsaw in 1957 after starting in Chicago in 1909, and in 2009 was honored by Governor Mitch Daniels for its 50-plus years in Warsaw.
