Czars History

Well, Ms. Newton, research other than the dictionary would have helped you understand that presidential advisors have been appointed since 1933. It appears your old buddy, Glenn, pushed the "czar" label, but when you are making nearly 30 million a year to talk, you have to be dramatic.

Actually, President Obama has 32 advisors and 35 appointees. George Bush had 35 advisors and 46 appointees. No one had a problem with the Republican administration "czars" even when they called for a Y2K "czar", a manufacturing "czar" and an AIDS "czar," or as he became known, the abstinence "czar" who had to resign because of an indiscretion with a Washington, D.C., prostitution list. I am still amazed that Karl Rove had time to make all those appointments and still run the country. Now there's a czar worthy of the title.

I believe I have seen the answer to your "after thought" several times when the men and women of our military are interviewed on TV. They will tell you they are doing their job. Unfortunately, many of them were sent to a war based on a lie while the enemy who attacked us is hiding in another country. The president who had no respect for the constitution is the one who started this war based on a lie, declared in 2003 the mission was accomplished, but we have had over 4,000 deaths and over 30,000 injuries since then, and we still can't get out of there. I hope he lives with that guilt every day while he's writing his book and walking his dog - the only thing he has done since January.
