MIAMI COUNTY – A Wabash woman was killed Saturday when the tire of a Warsaw man’s motorcycle blew out.

Taylour Leigh Sparks, 25, Wabash, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The rider of the motorcycle, Eric Lee Kuhn, 34, Warsaw, is in serious condition this morning, according to a Lutheran Hospital spokeswoman.

At about 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Indiana State Police troopers and Miami County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 24 near Miami County Road 300E.

Police said in a news release that Kuhn was driving a 2013 Victory motorcycle west on U.S. 24 near Miami CR 300E. The rear tire on the motorcycle blew, sending the motorcycle tumbling. Kuhn and his passenger, Sparks, were thrown from the motorcycle.

Lutheran medical helicopter flew Kuhn to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Police said his injuries are “unknown.”

Kuhn and Sparks were not wearing helmets.

The investigation is ongoing.
