Cultural exchange offers opportunities to learn, share

Posted

The Schoris are just one Kosciusko County family involved with the Nacel Cultural Exchange.

The program offers families the opportunity to share their culture with students from other nations. Families may participate in a short-term program or host a student for an entire year.

Two local families took a student into their homes for four weeks this summer.

The Bob and Cindy Dillon family of Warsaw hosted Anais Kauffman of Bordeaux, France.

Caroline Balland from Biarritz, France, stayed with the Ron and Rebecca Ogden family in Pierceton.

Other families are welcoming students for the upcoming school year.

David and Tina Conley of Warsaw will host Jean Francois Bouche of Sallenelles, France.

Taina Tharsis of Dreuil-les-Amiens, France, will stay with the Devlin and Wendi Barnes family of Warsaw.

Nacel also links U.S. students with families from other countries.

Paul Kibiger, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kibiger of Warsaw, traveled to France July 25 to spend four weeks with a French family.

Nacel makes all arrangements for students who wish to visit another country. The nonprofit organization provides transportation and chaperones, and all students are fully insured and have their own spending money.
