Yes, we are victims of the building fraud, but do we want to be victims a second time? I think not.
We also have received two letters in the mail from this builder asking us to accept a little bit of money each week from him whenever he can get back to work until the debt has been payed. The question is, why do you think we should believe you this time?
Our deal started in May and he was to start the next week, but needless to say he never came and did anything. All we got was one excuse after another why they weren't here putting on our roof. He was hard to get a hold of, said he had bad phone service where he lived. Wouldn't you think a good builder would want his customers to be able to reach him for a number of different reasons? This was not the case in this matter.
He told us in July he would be here for sure and our roof was his last job and he wasn't taking on any new work. We waited again and he never showed so we finally told him we wanted our money back. He told us he would send us a check out on Tuesday and if we hadn't received it by Thursday call him ASAP. We called and had to leave a message telling him we did not receive it. He never called us back so we left another message telling him we were going tot file in small claims court against him. Before we were able to do this we received the message that he was filing bankruptcy. After all the excuses, no shows, no check in the mail, he is asking us to once again believe in him, and take his work he will repay us. This is why we say no to being his victim a second time.
