Ruth and Gerald "Pete" Crowl Sr., Dewart Lake, Syracuse, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Thursday with a cookout with their children. Gerald Crowl Sr. and Ruth Behnke were married on Easter Sunday, April 5, 1941.
Gerald is the son of Alva and Effie Crowl, and Ruth is the daughter of Paul and Ina Behnke, Winamac. They reside on the original farm that Gerald's great-grandfather homesteaded in 1837.
The couple have one son, Gerald Jr. "Jerry" (and Colleen), Dewart Lake; three daughters: Dr. Carolyn Haggard, Tippecanoe Lake; Sandra Sue Bromley, Alpine, Utah; and Nancy L. Warrick, Elkhart; and four grandchildren.
