CROMWELL – A Cromwell man was arrested Thursday on charges of sexual misconduct with a minor at least 14 years of age but less than 16 years of age. Johnny Lee Leer, 27, of 11139 N. Humpty Dumpty Drive, Cromwell, was arrested at 7:52 p.m. Thursday for allegedly engaging in sexual misconduct with a minor and child solicitation. His bond was set at $25,250. According to a probable cause affidavit from the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, on June 16 Kosciusko County Sherriff’s Department Officer James Smith responded to a sexual misconduct call at Enchanted Hills Mobile Home Park. Smith met with a resident who advised he had just learned of an inappropriate sexual relationship between a 27-year-old male and a female minor. He told the officer the minor had met Leer on Facebook and showed Smith a text message of the minor admitting to having sexual intercourse with Leer. The minor then met with officers and advised Leer had sent her a friend request on Facebook a couple of weeks ago. They began messaging each other, which escalated to sending nude pictures to one another. She also told police that Leer sent her videos of himself touching himself and messages of the sexual things he would like to do with her. Leer then requested to meet the minor to have sex. All of the communication between the two was either on Facebook or Snapchat. The female further advised that on June 12 she went to Leer’s residence and Leer was waiting outside for her. Leer took her into his bedroom and began kissing her, which eventually led to sexual intercourse. A few days later the female told a family member about the sexual relationship with Leer.
