A new promotion by the Kosciusko County Conventions and Visitors Bureau hits the ground running Friday.
Crisscross Kosciusko begins Friday and runs through Jan. 15 with a grand prize of $1,000.
The object of the promotion is to gain foot traffic and awareness for local businesses.
The object of the game itself is to fill up a game board with pieces collected from different businesses.
Letter pieces should only be placed over shaded squares on the game board. The game board is complete when all shaded spaces have been filled.
Only one letter piece from each participating business can be used per game board. For example, if there are four letter spaces for "A", you must find four businesses with this letter.
Any game board with multiple letters from one business will be disqualified.
Letter pieces and game boards cannot be reproduced. Any completed boards with reproduced letter pieces will be disqualified.
Any reproduced game boards will be disqualified.
Participants must complete the required fields on the entry form on the back of the game board to qualify for prizes.
Properly completed boards will be put into a drawing.

While the grand prize is $1,000 there are also prizes for up to 10 spots.
Second prize is two season tickets to the 2011 Summer Season at Wagon Wheel Theatre (a $318 value).
Third prize is Kosciusko Escape to the Lakes Package (a $164 value).
Fourth prize is an overnight in a spa suite at the Holiday Inn Express with chocolates in your room from Weckmuller Chocolates.
Prizes through 10th place are gift baskets from the following towns that have businesses participating: Leesburg, Mentone, Milford, North Webster, Pierceton, Silver Lake, Syracuse, Warsaw and Winona Lake.
Those interested can pick up a game board at the KCCVB office off U.S. 30 near Bob Evans, all Lake City Bank branches or any of the 69 participating businesses.

There is also a Facebook page for the promotion - just search Crisscross Kosciusko.The Facebook page will be posting updates and participants also can post as well. There will be updates on the general CVB Facebook page.
The CVB will have a booth at the Taste & Trade Expo and will be giving out game boards then. The CVB's booth number is 59 at the expo. They will have shopping bags with the Crisscross logo on them to give away.
