Creighton's Art Featured At Gallery

WINONA LAKE - The Robert A. Hudson Gallery of Fine Art announced an exhibition of recent oils by local artist Steve Creighton during May.

The exhibit's opening reception will be May 9 beginning at 6 p.m. at the gallery, 803 E. Canal St., Winona Lake. The public is invited.Creighton grew up in the Warsaw area. As an undergraduate, he majored in both art and business at Valparaiso University. There he studied under art professor Richard Caemmerer who introduced him to studio oil painting. He continued his art education with graduate art courses at Indiana University.

The artist has an extensive background using different media. He has worked in acrylics and oils, and produced etchings and lithographs as well as sculpture. Currently, he works exclusively with oil paints. He has won numerous awards in several states including multiple best of show distinctions.

His studio is in Warsaw where he lives with his wife, Sue. A member of Lakeland Art Association, the artist also is a long-distance runner and has completed several marathons.

The Village at Winona also will sponsor its Friday Shop Hope on May 9 with various shops featuring the work of other artists.
