PLYMOUTH – Warsaw artist Steve Creighton was awarded Best of Show at Heartland Artists 2014 Juried Regional Art Exhibit for his landscape oil painting titled "Moonglow" painted in the tonalist style. Art judge Jaime Ball, Culver Academies Art Department, commented that his "landscape shows a command of his medium, oil paint. The dark, rich colors evoke a mysterious mood and drama that is striking.” Another of Creighton’s paintings was awarded a purchase award for the sale of his “Untitled Still Life.” Creighton has an extensive background working in acrylics and oils and has produced etchings and lithographs as well as sculpture. Currently, he works exclusively with oil paints focusing on landscapes and still life paintings. His studio is in Warsaw and his work may be viewed at his website at www.creightonoils.artistwebsites.com Over 80 pieces of original artwork was juried into the show and is on display through Oct. 31 at the Heartland Artists Gallery, 103 W.
