Donnae Dole, executive director of the Hoosier Salon in Indianapolis, awarded the best of show for an oil painting to ‘Evening Birch’ by local artist Steve Creighton at the Grant County Art Association’s 2013 Annual Spring Fine Art Show in Marion. The painting also won first place in oils. In addition, Creighton’s still life, ‘Vase on Red Cloth’, was awarded third place in oils. The association's Spring Open Exhibit boasted 98 entries in painting, drawing, photography and sculpture. Dole has been director of the Hoosier Salon in Indianapolis for six years where she oversees management of the three Hoosier Salon Galleries and the prestigious annual Hoosier Salon Juried Exhibit. Creighton's studio and gallery are in Warsaw. He is a member of Fort Wayne Museum of Art, Hoosier Salon, Warsaw's Artist Forum and several Indiana art guilds and associations.
