Warsaw artist Steve Creighton was awarded Best of Show for his still life oil painting “Red Delicious II” at the Kokomo Art Association’s 88th Annual Spring Show May 18 at the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library. Creighton’s work was entered in the Association’s Class I Professional division, reserved for artists of two-dimensional artwork who have previously won either Best of Show or first place in the Professional Division of any KAA show. The artist has an extensive background working in acrylics and oils and has produced etchings and lithographs as well as sculpture. Currently, he works exclusively with oil paints. His studio is in Warsaw and his work may be viewed at his website at creightonoils.artistwebsites.com Judging the annual show was Joe Fettingis, who is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society and has been published in the cover story of the “American Artist,” “International Artist” and “Pallete Talk” magazines. He has also been featured in the books “Splash 6, Painting Color” and the “Best of Watercolors 2” as well as many newspaper articles throughout the USA, Canada and Puerto Rico. Fettingis lectures, demonstrates and conducts workshops nationally and in Canada every year.
