COLUMBIA CITY – A Pierceton woman was arrested in Whitley County Friday night following a collision.
Vickie Krom, 60, of 5165 E. CR 100S, Pierceton, was arrested for driving while intoxicated after she pulled into an intersection and was struck by another vehicle.
Krom told a Whitley County Sheriff’s Department deputy that she stopped at the stop sign at CR 500N and Ind. 109, and saw another vehicle driven by Sara Flores, 29, Ligonier. Krom said she thought the vehicle driven by Flores was further away than it was. Krom then entered the intersection and was struck in the right rear door by Flores.
Dora Arispe, 44, Magnolia, N.C., a passenger in Flores’ vehicle, complained of head pain. Arispe was transported to Parkview Whitley Hospital shortly after the collision.
Krom was arrested for driving while intoxicated and transported to the Whitley County Jail on $6,000 bond. Krom has since bonded out.
