A Warsaw woman died and two Elwood men were injured in a Sunday afternoon accident on Ind. 15 in Warsaw.
Arleen B. Miner, 82, of 1903 Behlman Drive, Warsaw, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 12:51 p.m. accident near the intersection with Tiger Lane.
According to Warsaw police, Miner was northbound on Ind. 15 when she apparently crossed the center line and collided with a southbound vehicle driven by Charles F. Jones, 54, of Elwood.
Miner suffered multiple internal injuries. Jones suffered two broken legs and was admitted to Kosciusko Community Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition this morning. A passenger in Jones' car, David Roby, 53, Elwood, suffered a facial abrasion and was treated at KCH and released.
The accident occurred on a curved stretch of Ind. 15 and closed the highway for more than an hour while emergency crews worked to clean up the scene.
Miner was reportedly returning to the Warsaw area from a trip to Cincinnati when the accident occurred.
This is the first traffic fatality within city limits this year and only the second traffic death so far this year in Kosciusko County.
