ATWOOD -ÊAn Etna Green woman is dead after a one-vehicle crash Thursday night.
Nichole Brandon, 33, suffered massive head injuries after being thrown from her vehicle and was pronounced dead at Kosciusko Community Hospital following the crash.
According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Brandon was driving a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee on Old 30, just west of CR 800W, around 11:30 p.m. Thursday when the vehicle left the north side of the road. After hitting several trees, the SUV rolled and landed on its top.
According to Kosciusko County Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine, speed was a factor in the crash. Toxicology tests are being conducted and the accident remains under investigation.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department was assisted at the scene by Multi-Township EMS, Etna Green Fire Department, Atwood Fire Department, Mentone EMS and the Kosciusko County Coroner's Office.
