Crash Kills 52-Year-Old Driver

A woman is dead after a fatal single vehicle accident Thursday night on U.S. 30 at CR 350W.

Sandrak Slusarz, 52, of Northbrook, Ill., suffered extensive internal injuries resulting from the accident, and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner's Office.

According to a report from the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, at approximately 10:25 p.m., driver Martin Slusarz, also of Northbrook, Ill., swerved to miss a deer before losing control and rolling over numerous times to rest 150 feet from the roadway. The driver suffered head injuries from the accident and was treated at Kosciusko Community Hospital.

Two dogs were in the vehicle during the accident. One animal has been accounted for. The other dog, a white poodle that responds to the name "Tyler," has yet to be found by authorities.

KCSD was assisted by the Warsaw Police Department, Warsaw Fire Department, Atwood Fire Department, Multi Township EMS and the Kosciusko County Coroner's Office.
