A Chicago woman was critically injured Sunday in a two-car collision near Syracuse, and a Warsaw man suffered multiple fractures Friday when the four-wheeler he was driving near Pierceton struck a deer.

The car accident occurred at 5:56 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Ind. 13 and CR 1000N.

According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department press release, Wendy Wilson, 27, of Chicago, suffered unspecified injuries and was taken to Goshen General Hospital before being airlifted to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Wilson was eastbound on CR 1000N when she pulled into the path of a southbound car driven by Sharon Genetos, 52, of Fort Wayne, according to police.

Also injured in the accident was a passenger in Wilson's car, Jazzmin Wilson, 8, of Chicago. The younger Wilson was taken to GGH for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Genetos was not injured.

Assisting at the scene were personnel from Syracuse police and fire departments, Syracuse Emergency Medical Service and North Webster Police Department.

The accident remains under investigation.

In the off-road vehicle accident, Brett A. Robbins, 21, of East Eastridge Road, Warsaw, suffered a broken left collarbone and broken left hip.

A Department of Natural Resources report indicates Robbins was driving the ORV on a railroad right of way west of Wooster Road and was traveling about 50 mph when a deer jumped out in front of him. Robbins struck and killed the deer and was thrown from the four-wheeler upon impact.

The accident occurred at 6:50 p.m. Friday.
