At 4:40 p.m. Saturday, Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department officers were dispatched to Ind. 13, 1,000 feet north of CR 900N in North Webster.

Gene T. Sage, 39, Wabash, was headed northbound on Ind. 13 on his 2006 Harley Davidson FHI when, according to police reports, witnesses said Sage slumped as if he passed out or was reaching for something.

Sage, along with passenger Renee L. Waldon, 42, also of Wabash, then went off the road, striking a guard rail.

Sage was pronounced dead at the scene after he suffered a large laceration to his chest and left arm.

Waldon was airlifted to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, with a laceration to her leg and head.

As of this morning, Waldon was listed in fair condition.

The Kosciusko County Fatal Alcohol Team was at the scene, along with Syracuse Fire and EMS and the Kosciusko County Coroner's Office.

The incident remains under investigation.

At 4:47 p.m. Saturday, Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department was sent south to Ind. 13, 500 feet north of CR 350N regarding another motorcycle accident.

Clyde Nolan, 39, Valparaiso, was headed north on Ind. 13 when he overcorrected his 1998 Harley Davidson, crossing into southbound traffic.

Nolan left the roadway and ran into a railroad tie. He went off the motorcycle and landed in a ditch, while his motorcycle hit a utility pole.
