CR 250E Sidewalk

In regard to the petition being started for sidewalks along CR 250E, what in the world are people thinking?

The money comes from somewhere - grants or our tax dollars. In either case, the money should be spent wisely and thoughtfully. I don't recall seeing any other county road in Kosciusko County with sidewalks. There are many other county roads that have seen new development with churches, schools and large housing developments being added. Wisdom and safety prevailed, in that there are no sidewalks along these roads either. There are no sidewalks in Heritage Lake Park Subdivision, Lexington Manor Subdivision, Stonehenge Subdivision and many other new and old subdivisions where there is far less large truck traffic and the speed is lower.

It is a pretty well-known fact that CR 250E is used as a so-called bypass for trucks around Warsaw. I believe the number of "walking" students to Lakeland Christian Academy is minimal, as well as, walkers to Celebration Church.

The speed limit on CR 250 is currently 35 miles per hour and probably isn't that closely adhered to. I would suggest that if biking and walking are your thing, you would want to do it where the traffic is not so heavy and large-truck laden. I would not want to endanger my small child or anyone else along CR 250, whether biking, in a stroller, or walking. The amount of small rocks and crud flying in the air at the speed of the vehicles using CR 250 and potential accidents would make sidewalks most undesirable. I would imagine there is a reason why county roads don't have sidewalks, and in my estimation, it is logic.

I would suggest if people really want sidewalks, they should probably purchase a home where sidewalks already exist.
