The ‘Coyotes for Charity’ hunters from Miami, Wabash, Fulton, Kosciusko, Grant, Howard, Marshall, Carroll, Cass and Huntington counties have harvested 410 coyotes this past season. The coyote pelts were prepared for auction by Larry Frank, Macy. Bo Bodenheimer is a U.S. receiving agent for North American Fur Auctions in Toronto, Canada, where the pelts were sent to be sold. This is the 12th year for ‘Coyotes for Charity’ who started in 2004 with four hunters harvesting five coyotes to 2015 with over 120 hunters harvesting 410 coyotes. Money raised is matched by the Square D Foundation through the Relay for Life Campaign and also matched by a generous Miami County resident. All money raised is donated to the American Cancer Society. We want to thank the landowners and farmers for the opportunity to hunt. This will make our total harvest of 2,002 coyotes over the last 12 years and over $45,220 given to the American Cancer Society.
