SYRACUSE - Travis A. Coy, of Milford, was named valedictorian, and Kari L. Wortinger, Syracuse, is salutatorian of Wawasee High School's class of 1998.
Both students are members of the National Honor Society and are in the Academic Hall of Fame.
Coy has been on the golf and wrestling teams for four years and was named academic all-state in wrestling. He is the son of Alan and Cheryl Coy. His college plans include attending Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and majoring in chemical engineering.
Wortinger, the daughter of John and Jackie Wortinger, has been a four-year member of the basketball, golf and softball teams, and was named academic all-state in golf and basketball. She plans to attend Ball State University and major in architecture.
