COVID Cases Up In Kosciusko CountyThe Kosciusko County Health Department anticipates the county metrics on www.coronavirus.in.gov may change to orange or maybe red with the Wednesday ISDH update.
Cases are up, according to a KCHD news release. There were 112 cases last week and Oct. 3 to the afternoon of Oct. 7 had 47 cases reported. The previous nine weeks had case ranges of 46 to 63.
The positivity rate is a separate problem, the release states. The county’s extensive point of care testing has challenges in the reporting of negative tests. This remains the same issue that has been discussed previously in relation to the positivity rates. The positive tests are reliably reported, but the negative tests are significantly underreported. This makes the positivity rate much higher than what the actual rate of positive tests.
It remains that case rates are up significantly. So the KCHD asks that residents remember to take precautions to avoid transmission of COVID-19. Visit www.coronavirus.in.gov for more information.
