Circuit Court
Judge Rex Reed, with two years in office, will continue to hear civil and felony cases upstairs in the Justice Building. Examples of civil issues include estate proceedings, protective orders and guardianships.
Superior Court I
Newly elected Judge Duane Huffer will hear juvenile cases, criminal cases and civil cases. Huffer will be responsible for deciding what juvenile cases will advance to adult status.
Superior Court II
Judge James Jarrette will continue to oversee misdemeanor cases. Included in the misdemeanor caseload are shoplifting offenses, minor traffic infractions and some battery offenses.
Superior Court III
Newly elected Judge Joe V. Sutton will hear small claims cases, criminal felony cases and felony traffic offenses. Sutton takes over small claims from a court-appointed referee and felony traffic offense duties from Reed.
